Alcobendas manages its entire municipal strategy on a single platform with mideNet

The Alcobendas City Council monitors the implementation of the municipal strategy, as well as the various plans and programs, both at the level of the organization as a whole and within the different government departments, offices, and administrative bodies.

The organization needed a tool that , in addition to enabling this monitoring, would allow for the scaling up and implementation of new features. Furthermore, the goal was to integrate the tool with other municipal systems and incorporate accountability mechanisms. In this way, the aim was to ensure both the evaluation of public policies and citizens’ right to access public information, in accordance with Article 6 of Law 19/2013, of December 9, on transparency, access to public information, and good governance.

The Alcobendas City Council has chosen us to implement mideNet

To address this need, we implemented our mideNet toolto support governance, management control, evaluation, and accountability for planning and operational instruments.

The solution is designed so that a body such as Alcobendas City Council can monitor its plans autonomously. In this case, Alcobendas City Council has several planning instruments (Strategic Plan, Annual Operating Plan, Management by Objectives, etc.).

That being the case, mideNet met the city council’s short-term objectives and allowed it to adapt the system as needs arose over successive legislative terms.

Results: Centralized strategic information, continuous monitoring of objectives, and project tracking

The implementation of mideNet has strengthened the City Council’s ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate its public policies by integrating strategic information into a single platform and improving the tracking of municipal objectives. Among the project’s key results are:

• It centralizes strategic information and provides policymakers and technical staff with access to up-to-date dashboards to monitor progress toward objectives, actions, and indicators.
• It strengthens the monitoring and evaluation of public policies through continuous monitoring, early detection of deviations, visual tracking of projects, and the preparation of reports that support data-driven decision-making.
• It promotes transparency and accountabilityby organizing information on the progress of the municipal strategy and facilitating the communication of results, in accordance with citizens’ right of access to public information.
• It ensures the traceability of municipal planningby linking strategic objectives to projects and operational tasks, making it easier to associate a single initiative with different plans and reducing duplication in management.
