PKF Attest actively participated in the UPV/EHU summer course entitled "Local care ecosystems: community, territory and innovation", a day that brought together more than 100 people committed to the transformation of care models based on 4 pillars: prevention, personalization, coordination and community.
This summer course, organized by the University of the Basque Country (EHU) in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa (DFG), is part of the development of the Zaintza HerriLab strategy: an innovative commitment to build local care ecosystems based on community activation, inter-institutional collaboration and the use of technologies at the service of people.
The conference counted with the institutional participation of Maite Peña, Deputy for Care and Social Policies of the DFG, and Nerea Melgosa, Councilor for Welfare, Youth and Demographic Challenge of the Basque Government, who highlighted the urgency of moving towards models of care more adapted to the challenges of aging and frailty. Our partner, Aitor Garmendia Bartolomé, was present at the meeting, actively participating in the development of the course.
PKF Attest in the design and implementation of local ecosystems of care.
From PKF Attest we had the opportunity to share our experiences as technical assistance in Local Care Ecosystems to the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa in the design and implementation of local care ecosystems (currently 18 in Gipuzkoa). Through exploration, experimentation, evaluation, stabilization, scaling and transfer tools, as well as their governance and constant monitoring, the aim is to develop local ecosystems of care whose ultimate goal is to have an impact on the improvement of people's quality of life.
In this context, the summer course served as a privileged space to present concrete experiences developed in Gipuzkoa and discuss their potential for replicability. In addition to local experiences, the program included presentations by international experts in long-term care, generating a rich, diverse and strategic look at the future of care.
Zaintza HerriLab strategy, Quality Innovation Award
It should be noted that the Zaintza HerriLab strategy was recently recognized with the Quality Innovation Award (QIA) 2024 Spain, in the category of Innovation in the Public Sector, and won second prize internationally out of 557 entries. The international jury particularly valued its ability to offer effective, sustainable and adapted responses to contemporary social challenges, such as aging and the reorganization of the care system.
From PKF Attest, we reaffirm our commitment to the promotion of innovative and collaborative solutions in the field of care and social policies, helping public institutions to build people-centered, closer, fairer and more effective policies.
