PKF Attest It has been awarded the contract to audit Renfe's annual financial statements for the fiscal years 2026, 2027, and 2028, for a total of 1.03 million euros, including taxes, according to information published on the Public Sector Procurement Portal.
This award strengthens the relationship of trust between the two entities and ensures the continuity of the partnership that began in fiscal years 2022, 2023, and 2024, with the contract subsequently extended through 2025.
The service will be provided by the Audit and Assurance division of PKF Attest, led by Alfredo Ciriaco, the partner in charge of this practice at the firm.

The new award marks the conclusion of a contracting process that began in December 2025, when Renfe issued a request for proposals for audit services for the companies in its group, with a budget of 1.92 million euros and the possibility of an extension. However, the procedure was declared void in February 2026.
In June of that same year, the rail operator issued a new call for bids, with a budget of 1.2 million euros and terms that differed from those of the previous procedure. Ultimately, the contract was awarded to PKF Attest, which will continue to audit Renfe’s financial statements for the next three fiscal years.
