What's new for Dynamics 365
What's new for Supply Chain Management
In this edition, Microsoft has presented two new add-ons for Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management: Cloud and Edge Scale Unit and Inventor Visibility, solutions focused on helping to keep factory and warehouse work running in 24/7 mode, and to show inventory in real time. Both will be previewed later this October.
Cloud and Edge will offer enterprises the ability to maintain critical factory and warehouse workloads 24/7 using Azure's ecosystem of devices. This capability increases the resiliency of enterprises, and ensures that all processes are up and running even in the event of loss of cloud connectivity.
Inventor Visibility will address one of the most widespread vulnerabilities in supply chains: lack of inventory visibility. This add-on will enable distributors and manufacturers to handle large volumes of transactions per minute and determine multichannel inventory accurately and in real time.
What's new for Dynamics 365 Customer Service
Microsoft has announced a new proprietary voice channel for Dynamics 365 Customer Service, built on Azure. Integrating voice into existing capabilities will provide a much more complete, unified and consistent customer service experience within Dynamics 365. AI capabilities such as sentiment analysis will also be incorporated, and thanks to the Common Data Model, data collected in the voice channel is automatically integrated into the existing data set.
Dynamics 365 Customer Service is the application that any company can use to differentiate its brand in the market. Thanks to integrated intelligence, with Customer Service it is possible to offer a more personalized service and add value to every interaction.
What's new in Teams
In the Microsoft 365 area, exciting new Microsoft Teams features have been introduced to optimize meetings, including new Together mode backgrounds and custom layouts, which make presented content more dynamic and engaging, for example by bringing the presenter's video to the foreground of the shared content screen.
Also announced were new features in Microsoft Teams Rooms and devices that reinforce measures aimed at protecting health when people return to the workplace, such as Touchless meeting experiences, the Room remote app, Teams projection and the use of Cortana as a voice assistant, so employees can comply with safety protocols.
Workplace Analytics for Teams will provide information and insights, in a changing environment, to team managers, who can get a snapshot of how resilient the organization is, how well employees are maintaining connections with their peers and customers, and the risk of burnout for individual workers.
Of course, Teams also improves its security and compliance. And the Teams Power Platform is enhanced to make it easier for any employee to create and use codeless applications, bots and automated workflows. This makes it possible to solve business challenges and extract value from data using Power BI, always within Teams.
